This is the oldest vice-regal residence in North America. Government House has been the residence of the sovereign’s representative in Nova Scotia for more than 200 years. For Doors Open Halifax weekend only, visitors will be able to get a glimpse of the staterooms occupied by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the royal family whenever they’re in Halifax, and to view an impressive collection of art and antiques. Portraits and artifacts depicting the rich and diverse history of Nova Scotia are on display in every room.
NOTE: 30-minute guided tours will be given of the main and second levels.
